A Wild Stitch at Alserkal Art Week

🗓️ 13 April onwards
📍 Alserkal Avenue, Dubai

Step into the vibrant heart of contemporary art this spring with A Wild Stitch, the latest edition of Alserkal Art Week. Running from 13 April, this season’s program offers a dynamic lineup of exhibitions, immersive experiences, and live cultural moments, each designed to challenge norms and celebrate artistic diversity.

🧵 A Bold Weave of Voices & Ideas

From provocative installations to experimental performances, this year’s edition champions new perspectives and bold storytelling across mediums. Expect to encounter unfiltered creativity, thought-provoking themes, and boundary-pushing formats that ask viewers to see—and think—differently.

🔸 Majlis Talks: Crit Club

🎤 Curated by Stephanie Bailey
An unmissable interactive performance in the form of a sports-style debate tournament. Artists, curators, and thinkers take on unlikely scenarios and unspoken topics from the UAE’s art scene in a high-energy, participatory format.

🔸 Between a Beach and a Slope

🖼️ Curated by Fatos Üstek
This striking public art commission series draws from a poem by Emirati poet Nujoom Alghanem, transforming urban space with installations that speak to movement, memory, and in-between spaces.

🔸 Vanishing Points by Imran Qureshi

📍 At Concrete | Curated by Nada Raza
🗓️ On view until 20 April
Explore layered cityscapes of South Asia through a compelling mix of photography, video, painting, and site-specific installations. Qureshi’s work deconstructs the “single narrative,” inviting viewers to consider multiple coexisting realities.

🔸 I Paint Your Grace, I Paint Your Pain, I Paint Love by Reza Derakshani

A deeply personal solo exhibition weaving together Persian artistic traditions with emotive narratives of memory, transformation, and socio-pol

Our review

Absolutely not crowded art festival with a lot of galleries, installations, workshops and exhibitions of different sorts. Pictures, clothes, sculptures, old cars – you’ll find everything here. As well as a few places to eat and work. Around 20 minute walk from Al Safa (Onpassive) metro station. Recommended for art enjoyers.
