Part I. Story

It all started with idea.

We visited Icons of Porsche in 2022, movie nights in DIFC and a few other events — all for free. It was surprising to discover this side of Dubai, a city often considered one of the most expensive in the world. How could quality entertainment be accessible without breaking the bank?

The problem was — there was no easy way to keep track of all the happenings in Dubai. Small-scale events were getting lost on Instagram, leaving many interested folks out of the loop. So we got the idea to build a community-driven event app where people could share their findings with each other.

We went to /r/Dubai reddit community and asked if it might interest someone. The response was incredible and 10 days later we with a few redditors who offered their help launched the first version of the app you’re using now.

Can’t say that release was smooth. We made a post on /r/Dubai, and it was deleted 20 minutes later for self-promotion, which, my god, didn’t feel great at the time (read copy here).

Anyway, it wasn’t time to give up yet and we ”made a release” on the UAE sub and things finally got rolling.

Part II. “About us”

It well might not be the most fascinating story, but it tells you everything you need to know to decide if our app is the right fit for you.

This project isn’t about us — it’s about the community. There is no need to register to submit events or post pictures. You can use it as a website in browser or download an app on your phone, we don’t force you into anything. All content and features available as it is. But if you do want an account, it’s a matter of 30 seconds to create one. We don’t ask you to create and save a password, no personal information is collected.

For those who want more control over their events, we offer a business account:

• 🌟 manage events easily (edit, delete, schedule, notify followers, etc)
• 📷 post engaging videos and pictures to showcase their brand and events
• 📣 boost brand awareness by making it to the “featured” events on the main page

Even better, businesses hosting free events and community leaders organizing them for fun and not for money get a “community” version of the business account — completely free, with all the perks of the “pro” version.

In the end, our mission is to support those already making a difference by creating awesome and quality entertainment!
